Gaudeamus for a woodwind nonet is one of my latest works commissioned by the Virginia Tech graduate school for the commencement ceremony. It was premiered on the 15th of December 2006 as part of the Virginia Tech fall commencement. Unlike most of my recent opus, this piece was written for purely acoustic performing forces (although, truth be told, I am seriously considering converting portions into an interactive multimedia happening ;)). Gaudeamus is to receive additional performances this coming Spring and the Fall of 2007 on the Virgina Tech main and north campuses.

Special thanks go to Dean Karen DePauw for commissioning the work and to my Dr. Patrick Casey and his ensemble for a fine performance.
