Linux & Multimedia class -- First time at CCM!
Feb 7th, 2002, 10:55pm

Grin Great news for all Linux enthusiasts! Grin

I will be teaching a new class this coming Spring quarter. For the first time in the history of the College Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati, is offering a Linux and Multimedia class!

This is something really worth being excited about. After all, Linux is now becoming the mainstream subject on the Music and Composition-oriented curriculum, thus posing as a viable multimedia workstation.

The class call-number is 16-MTHC-660-001, it will have its first meeting the first Thursday of the Spring quartet in the Emery 3207 (computer lab) from 4-6 PM, and it will be offered for 0-1 undergraduate or graduate credit(s) [later meetings might change once I figure out if there is a better time for all the participants to meet at].

It is misleaingly titled "Linux Programming" in the Course listings, and it will cover a wide variety of Linux OS-oriented topics, such as installation and basic maintenance, but the main focus will be on utilizing Linux for multimedia productivity, as well as composition. There will be some class time devoted to exploring Linux as the software development platform.

If you have the oportunity, please consider registering for this course!

Hope to see you there!
