I guess every so often we all get to do something "different." One such moment for me was this past Tuesday January 30th, 2007 when I joined 23 other pianists in a two-evening marathon performing Bach's Well Tempered Clavier book 1. I must admit that it was rather unusual for me to go back to my old roots, especially since it has been some time since I've engaged in a performance of the Common Practice repertory. All in all, if I had to describe my experience in one word, it would have to be:
