DARC Revo:oveR summer research
Jan 8th, 2009, 2:38pm

As was the case in 2007, last summer the DARC team received funding to conduct creative research towards completion of an interactive multimedia installation for the grand opening of Taubman Museum of Art in Roanoke, VA (http://www.taubmanmuseum.org/) scheduled for November 2008. As part of the package I secured one graduate assistantship for this purpose, in part because I ended up spending a part of summer on a beautiful Croatian coast recharging my batteries for what later proved to be one of the busiest fall semesters so far.

As a result of the work done throughout the summer, my final involvement boiled down to creating an interactive aural installation that would tie various visual pieces together, and generating interactive audio-visual content for the two physical sculptures created by my friend and Colleague Eric Standley.

One of the early prototypes for what I refer to as "Orwellian robot" can be found on DISIS YouTube channel.
