Late October I was asked to partake in Virginia Tech CLAHS delegation to Bangor University (Wales, UK) with an intent to generate collaborative ties and plant seeds for collaborative exchange. While visiting, we met a number of faculty and administrators and participated in a number of social and artistic events. Wales is indeed beautiful and a number of University buildings have that mesmerizing "Harry Potter" feel to it. I've made a few very interesting contacts I am hoping to follow-up on soon. All in all, the journey was productive and above all enjoyable.
On a side note, if you ever wondered what is the town with the longest name in the World, look no farther than Wales UK that hosts the town of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch (no kidding!). But don't take my word for it, Google is only a
mouse click away.
