As I dig farther back into my creative portfolio, it is becoming increasingly difficult to come up with quality video footage. In 2007 I put together a quick demo using 3 MIT Crickets (a.k.a. iMotes) for ultrasonic triangulation (you can barely see their LEDs on the floor in the unfortunately rather lo-fi footage above) of the fourth iMote (held in hand). In this demo (implemented using MaxMSP), the three axes are mapped to amplitudes of three chords, resulting in a relatively simplistic location-aware sonification, which, when coupled with gesture is probably the most interesting aspect of this little side-project. While insignificant on its own, the demo served as a foundation for my interest in human gesture and its prominent role in L2Ork.
